Our expertise and experience is based on a height degree of professionalism across a broad spectrum of the building industry: from proven management systems and modern, cutting edge technologies required for high level detailed construction, through to a patience and understanding of the more traditional techniques and hands-on methodologies that are required for successful restoration to heritage listed buildings.
This has allowed us to achieve excellent results in the two principal building types that are encounter: contemporary, architect-designed buildings of complex structural, spatial or material configuration on the one hand, and more sensitive, contextual interventions to existing heritage building on the other. Paul Kerr & Dean Hessenberger – Directors
Paul Kerr and Dean Hessenberger are the driving force behind Preferred Builders, each bringing over 38 years of experience to the industry. Dean began his carpentry apprenticeship in 1985, followed by Paul in 1987, laying the foundation for their deep expertise in construction methodologies. Their leadership, hands-on approach, and commitment to excellence have established the company as a benchmark for quality in the building industry.
Paul, as Founding Director, has built a reputation for precision and quality, seamlessly blending contemporary architectural expertise with a deep understanding of modern construction practices. His meticulous attention to detail ensures that every project is completed to the highest standard, while his commitment to collaboration fosters strong relationships with clients, architects, and industry partners.
Dean, as Partner of Preferred Builders and Founding Director of Multi-level, plays a pivotal role in operations. He ensures seamless project execution through strategic planning, problem-solving, and innovation. His ability to navigate complex challenges, optimize efficiency, and uphold the company’s high standards makes Preferred Builders a trusted partner in delivering exceptional results.
Daniel Hodges – Senior Contracts Administrator/Estimator
Daniel Hodges brings invaluable expertise as the Senior Contracts Administrator/Estimator at Preferred Builders. A qualified carpenter and licensed builder, Daniel has a strong background in construction management, contract management, and financial reporting. He plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all project-related documentation. His deep understanding of contracts and project reporting enables him to effectively manage project budgets, mitigate risks, and maintain financial clarity throughout the lifecycle of each project. Daniel’s expertise in estimating ensures that all costs are thoroughly analyzed and accounted for, contributing to the successful execution of projects to the highest standards.
