Mercer Apartments Kingston
ResidentialProject Description
Designed to capture the classic charm of old Kingston, the Mercer apartments were designed with generous proportions throughout. The development includes 11 - 3 bedroom apartments, a common room with individual wine cellars and basement parking.
The building’s monumental form is complemented by the striking cantilevered curved masonry wall, which wraps the corner acknowledging Capitol Hill. The material palette was chosen with handcrafted finishes in mind. Roman bricks with exquisite corbel detailing around the balconies and parapet. Copper cladding articulates the building’s entry and upper level. A coherent grid of oversized double-glazed windows on each facade is trimmed with fabricated steel awnings. The design was conceived by COX Architecture and Aplus Group with Thursday Architecture engaged for construction documentation and on-site project assistance.
